The Foundation which is guided by Mandela’s ethos of integrity, solidarity and justice, continues his work by running various dynamic programmes on critical social issues, as well as supporting the neediest in society through charity projects that it both supports directly as well as catalysing others to do so.
Its work on dialogue and memory is a core component of the Foundation. Through organizing workshops, in facilitating leadership programmes and through collaborating with various media platforms and publishing houses, the Foundation undertakes the mammoth task of preserving the legacy of arguably the greatest statesman of the 20th century. Following in the footsteps of its patron, the Foundation seeks, through listening, to engage young and old from all sectors of society in the reconciliatory dream of Mandela.
For the ethical, bridge-building principles it preserves; in pursuit of global justice and in cultivating the spirit of Nelson Mandela in the hearts of all peoples, the Foundation is a deserving candidate of the Zayed Award for Human Fraternity, 2022.
